Hello everyone!

This is a lesson from MusicPlay. It is another "online learning" lesson that I think would be fun for you, but please feel free to explore the other tools, games, and sections of the website! There is lots to do!

As always, theses are optional, but know that music is a fantastic way to keep active, express creativity, and improve literacy in other academic areas. Without further ado, here is the lesson!

Concepts Covered

- Fast and slow (tempo)

- Beat

- Sing and play to songs from around the world

- Lyrics

Objectives

- I can move fast and slow

- I can sing and play with a song from the West Indies

- I can keep the beat

- I can create new lyrics for a song.

Please note that although it says Kindergarten at the top, this lesson is appropriate for all primary grades [K-3]

For section 7, it mentions your instrument kit. If you haven't built one, here is how.

If You'd Like To Share (email me at rdochstader@sd57.bc.ca)

- Send a video of you moving your feet to the sounds of the drum

- Send a picture of your completed "Tingalayo Activity Sheet" (or if you do this on your own paper, send me a picture of your drawing)

Happy Music Making!
