Texture Hunt!

Hi Everyone,

In art we've talked about shapes, colour, space, and lines. Today we're going to explore texture. Texture is the way something looks or feels. In art we often cannot touch, but by using different surfaces and materials we can create visual texture.

You will need a piece of paper and a crayon.

Go around your house and find surfaces with different textures. Put your paper onto that surface and colour with your crayon. The texture of the surface will come through on your paper. See if you can find at least 6 different textures around you.
